Am kommenden Samstag steigt die “Apres Ski” Party des Sommers auf der Sonnenterrasse des Tannbergerhofs. Ein Event für alle die schon sehnsüchtig auf die legendären “Apres Ski” Party des Winters warten.

Ein neuartiges Event von Red Bull findet kommende Wintersaison in St. Anton am Arlberg statt. Man darf gespannt sein was die wagehalsigen Teilnehmer alles zeigen werden!

Was verbindet eine urige Almhütte und die hochmoderne Galzigbahn in St. Anton am Arlberg? Sie sind Starthaus und Zielort für das wahrscheinlich abenteuerlichste und actionreichste Skirennen des kommenden Winters. Bei der Red Bull Hüttenrallye fighten furchtlose Amateure Kante an Kante mit der internationalen Freeskielite um die schnellste Linie im Stile der „guten, alten Zeit“. MitDaron Rahlves (USA) und Andreas Matt (AUT) warten zwei der weltbesten Profis auf ihre Herausforderer!

Der Startsprung erfolgt vom schneebedeckten Holzdach, 300 Höhenmeter auf knapp 2km Länge quer über oder mitten durch die Tiroler Hütten gilt es in einer schweißtreibenden Minute Laufzeit zu überwinden. Bei der Red Bull Hüttenrallye in St. Anton am Arlberg, der Wiege des Skilaufs, wird am 21. und 22. Dezember 2010 nicht beschaulich geschunkelt, sondern es zählt nur die beste Linie. Beim Freeski 6-Cross treten Amateure gegen Profis an und wer sich beim Anblick von Location und Strecke an Skifilmklassiker erinnert fühlt, wird beim nächsten Hütten-Jump samt Ellbogencheck schnell von der Gegenwart eingeholt.

24 Freeskiprofis aus aller Welt – acht Damen und 16 Männer –, darunter der Skicross X-Games Gewinner Daron Rahlves aus den USA, sowie der amtierende Weltmeister und Olympiazweite von Vancouver Andreas Matt, sind geladen. Gesucht werden Freeskier, Skilehrer, Hobbyrennläufer, Freerider und andere Skisportbegeisterte, die sich über einen Zeitlauf auf der Strecke für die 6er Heats am nächsten Tag qualifizieren. Beim Rennen selbst werden vier Amateure und zwei Profis gleichzeitig auf die Rallye durch den Schnee geschickt und die jeweils drei Schnellsten steigen in die nächste Runde auf. Erlaubt ist beinahe alles – auf der Alm gibt es bekanntlich keine Sünd’ – und zu gewinnen gibt’s sowohl bei den Damen als auch bei den Herren einen Suzuki. Am Ende kürt sich der zum Sieger, der nicht nur den Einkehrschwung perfekt beherrscht.

Arlberg bleibt Preiskaiser

In Kooperation mit MANOVA wurde ein Sonderteil über betriebswirtschaftliche Kennzahlen ausgewählter Destinationen ausgearbeitet. Hier zeigt sich die herausragende Position der Destination Arlberg. Der auf Vorarlberger Seite erzielte Netto-Durchschnittspreis ohne Ortstaxe von 132 Euro liegt meilenweit vor der Konkurrenz. Mit 85 bzw. 84 Euro folgen das Ötztal und Ischgl-Paznaun erst mit deutlichem Abstand. Hotel- und Tourismusprofis bieten diese aussagekräftigen Daten die Basis für professionelle Expertisen. „Langfristige Planung, aber auch kurzfristige Entscheidungen auf Basis derart fundierter Daten erhöhen die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit enorm“, verweist MANOVA-Geschäftsführer Klaus Grabler auf spezielle Benchmarking-Angebote für Destinationen.

funny enough – when the big rush is closing down – mainly after easter –  and some of the hotels start the closingsession – the mountains always seem reward us with some of the most spectacular skiingconditions of the entire passed season  - and – the best:: we have it all to ourself!! No question so far if we deserved this – i think we did…as in fact  many of us could finally take a piece of that cake …. its just nice that this time it turned out to be full of delicious raisins – if u know what i mean…

What a privelege, what luxury, if u go up the mountains and therehave an extraordinary choice:: do i want powdersnow or would i prefer springsnow – perfectly smooth!! This kind of “joyce” we had 2 weeks ago for about 3 -5 days, easibily reachable, no big climbing or touring necessary – and  - believ it or not – there was no rush at all to quickly find some still untouched slopes – everything was untouched!! and stayed virgin if you dint ride it down. One  could ski allover where ever one wanted- often enough u were the only one – maybe some tracks somewhere…

Thats when  i thought – i have to share this with all of you out there – probably most of you are sitting in your offices, behind your desks, working your a… of tp make sure that the next wintervacation is going to happen – i also can visualize a few of you already  on the decks of splendid boats , or aside swimmingpools – anyway, wherever you are -i can see you clicking  time to time o the arlbergstar webadress, that great new platform which enables us al to keep in touch all thru the year , that spreads rumor, gives information and feeds us with all that news that you like to receive from that extraordenary worldclass skiresorts which so many of u love and might call  somehow a second home – because thats how this place feels to many of you….we know that…..

So, view the pictures i made ofr all of you – feel the fabulous skiing that was given to us, and also, let me share a little of the fun we had the last two weeks – there were events, there were races, here were a lot of parties going on anywhere, all over the entire Arlberg region…and there still was very small, but  most amused crowd that appreciated what the place had to offer these last 14 dayst we all partied hard, and skied early next day…because there is one rule in spring :: you´ve got to get out on the mountain early before the snow turnes slushy late midday.

Hoping to make you a bit jealous…in a good way… and turning you on for next season`s afterseason – give it a thought – next year it will be the inbetweenseason – as easter is around today! see how good skiing can be when spring has started and the valleys are green….if u are really a hearted skiier – i wish you can have this experoence one day yourself.

- always a winner – the long afternoons on the legendary BALMENalpe – sunset at 19h!! and skiing down in perfectly fresh groomed springsnow…into the romantic nightglow of lech!!

- special flair @ schneggarai – the cosy hut in lech – a truely pearl among the musicbars.

there were other great events like

-  the happy Edelweiß TSE Week – with a great programm including a nostalgic evening….showing a movie from the 20ies and serving a dinner from that epoche…

- the oberlech springparty – held infront of the hotel burg

- WINTER FAREWELL CELEBRATION  - 25.4. @ HospizAlm
the spectacular race on serving??boards – and  the absolutely unique parade including a waltz  of the groomingmashines – the official winterfarewall with flags pulled down while horns playing sentimentally – a real heartbreaker!!

The SPORT TOPICS::

- Albona longboard classic – 17.4. – a snowboard downhill freeride competition – massstart with no gates – from the top to the bottom!!

- Der weiße Rausch – a ultraspectacular race from the valluga down to the bottom of st.anton – 24.4. – 533 racers at the start – massstart in three categories….unbelievable!!! Best time under 9 minutes this year – some needed 8 minutes to manage just the climbing part in the first section of the race….
around 4000 spectators in the finnishing area, all having a good time. This race is becoming a true cult ….

Lech mountain trophy – a highly athletic challange of a mountain triathlon:: biking – sking – running::  lech – zürs – madlocjh – lech, afterparty in the postgarage lech .

…and i am sure there were many more social events which I do not know about…

Für die  die Gäste  zum Saisonende ein längst erhoffter, ja ersehntesr event der einen kontrast zum gängigen, altbekannnte und stets repitierten kommerzprogramm bot.  - für viele erhoffter auftakt für einen blick in die zukunft – zumindest einstimmung für die normalität back home.
